Hello Friends and Fans of the Universal Gospel Choir:

As we began preparing for our 25th anniversary season we did not expect we would find ourselves making a fundraising appeal to our loyal fans and friends … but here we are. We, like many arts organizations in BC, have been denied our funding from Direct Access Gaming grants this year.

The grant, which we have received for the past 10 years, is the single largest source of funds outside of our choir member dues and revenues from self-produced concerts. Its loss represents a 20% decline in our already very tight budget. Over the years it has allowed us to expand our season and present fund-raising concerts in support of a wide variety of lower mainland charities.

This season we have five charities counting on us to help them achieve their fundraising and/or community building goals. We are determined to meet these expectations and hope that you will consider helping us with that task. The Universal Gospel Choir will have a season of wonderful music this year but your support will mean we are better able to carry on with the Outreach portion of our work and provide the healing power of music that so many have come to love.

Donations can be made in two ways:

1.  Here, on our website through an organization called Canada Helps. Their secure website allows you to donate using a credit card.

2.  Mail a cheque to: Universal Gospel Choir, 3012 West 13th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V6K 2V2

All donors will receive a charitable donation tax receipt for donations of $25 or more.  We will also list your name on our website and in our concert programs for the season (unless you prefer to remain anonymous).
